Reclaimed flooring is lumber that is recycled, sourced from long-standing idle factories & buildings, refinished for building and design purposes. Many American buildings that are slated for demolition offer a great opportunity to reclaim some of the most beautiful and strong wood, sometimes over 300 years old, while also taking part in the movement towards more sustainability. You cannot find this type of wood in today's newly sawn lumber.

CORK UNDERLAYMENT as a Green Choice.

Cork is harvested without cutting down trees. It consists of the bark of the Cork Oak tree. The bark is stripped from the trunk of the tree every 9 to 12 years. This process also enhances the lifespan of the tree adding 150 to 200 years to it's life.

Cork also has exceptional durability with nearly 200 million completely sealed air filled cells per cubic inch. It has the ability to be repeatedly compressed and will recover nearly 100% of its original size and shape. Cork is mold-resistant and provides great thermal insulation.

       

Bamboo Flooring is an excellent choice for any room in your home. Bamboo is actually a grass, not a wood, and is a rapidly renewable source for flooring, setting it apart as a green flooring option. It's resource-efficient, a biobased material, and comes from a replenishable supply.

A bamboo shoot reaches full size in two years. By the third year, the shoot is no longer feeding the plant. Removing the shoot actually promotes its regeneration. Note: Harvesting in these forests is not a threat to Pandas because they seek bamboo at higher elevations.
